Where to watch the sunset in Rome
Watching sunsets has always been considered a very romantic moment in the life of a couple in love. A fantastic sunset can be watched from the panoramic platform “belvedere” on the Gianicolo hill in the XIII region of Trastevere. This panoramic platform is located in a picturesque Roman park on a hill and is considered the highest in the city, from which you can observe the buildings of the Renaissance Rome. During sunset, the city and the surrounding mountains turn pink, creating a fantastic scene.
You can get here by bus number 64 from the railway. from Termini Station to the LGT Sassia / S. Spirito stop (14 stops), then bus no 115 or 870 to the Piazzale Garibaldi stop (6 stops), then walk 100 meters to Piazza Garibaldi. Or, alternatively, by pre-ordering a taxi.
Unforgettable sunsets can be watched from the two main buildings of Rome – the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica and from the terrace of the Altar of the Motherland. To see Rome from a bird’s eye view, you need to climb the dome of the basilica by elevator and climb 320 steps (cost 8 euros) or walk up 551 steps (cost 6 euros). It is better to buy tickets in advance, otherwise there is a risk of spending a romantic evening in the queue downstairs. It is possible together with an audio guide, for example, such a tour.

Night Tour at Castel Sant’Angelo
